Programs
A look at our multifaceted approach to combating food inequality
Our cooperative model is split into three major programs. Members of our programs contribute a minimum of 3.5 hours/month of volunteer time to the organization.
Members are able to shop from our Market up to 3 days a week averaging 40 pounds of groceries per shop.
Our Members also have access to our Gratitude Galleria 7 days a week which offers household items, clothing for all ages, books, seasonal goods, and more for free.
Farm Gleaning draws a lot of our members out into the fields every summer. Members are able to participate in a wide variety of gleans.

We recognize that food insecurity is exacerbated for migrant communities and other people of color. We have launched several programs to address these disparities.
In partnership with the Mount Vernon School District, we offer migrant farmworker families a sponsored membership at Skagit Gleaners.
In order to obtain culturally relevant foods for our migrant farmworker participants, and in an effort to shift power in food production, we purchase produce directly from BIPOC-owned farms to supplement our gleaning efforts.
We also collaborate with several migrant-centered programs to distribute relevant foods to Mexican-indigenous families in Skagit County. These projects are completed outside of our “cooperative program”.

We do our best to foster strong relationships with organizations and service groups in our county. Having great relationships with our community allows us to expand our network, partner with like-minded organizations, and most importantly feed more families!
You may see us at community events or speaking to audiences about food sovereignty. Being able to engage with committees, service groups or local businesses allows us to share our mission and build more partnerships.
