Board of Directors

Ron Wesen
I have been on the Gleaner Board since 2010. I think Gleaners allows us to recycle our food and allows members to benefit from their hours worked and the community we live in.
Ron Wesen was elected in 2008 as District One Skagit County Commissioner for Skagit County. He is a fourth-generation dairy farmer and businessman. Three generations of the extended Wesen family operate an organic centennial dairy farm in the Bow-Edison area of Washington State.

Megan Anderson
I retired from being the Executive Director of Skagit Gleaners in June of 2019 and am now serving on the Board of Directors because I believe in their mission and vision. I see the need for practical help in our community and the group of people who participate in the program are empowered to make a difference in their own life through hard work and dedication. In my career, I have founded four successful businesses and have had over 30 years as an entrepreneur. I am now able to volunteer and help start new programs for nonprofits. I have always tried to help people better their lives through personal responsibility and Skagit Gleaners lines up with that philosophy. I am honored to be a part of such a great program that lines up so perfectly with my own values.

Sandy Cobbin
I have lived in Skagit County for almost 50 years. I am the Director of Sales for Food Services Incorporated in Mt Vernon. My whole career has been in food service in one form or another. The unbelievable waste that I have seen led me to the Gleaners, first as a donor and then as a member of the Board of Directors in 2013.

On Saturday mornings you can find Glenda at the studios of La Zeta 103.3 where she co-hosts a fun show for all Spanish-speaking listeners.
Skagit Gleaners has a special place in Glenda’s heart, where she used the last $100 she had in per pocket and became a member in 2014. She was new in Mount Vernon, and had no friends or relatives in the area. It was thanks to Skagit Gleaners that there was food on her family table and clothes and toys for their kids. At the time Glenda didn’t have a job and her husband was working in construction for minimum wage. Times were hard but Glenda found in the Gleaners the support her and her husband needed. She felt welcome from the beginning. Glenda still remembers Megan’s prayers on Monday mornings. She experienced the attitude of gratitude. Glenda is ready to give back to the place and community that was there for her when she needed it the most.
